Ubuntu and surfing...

    Default Ubuntu and surfing...

    Good morning everyone.

    I installed Ubuntu with gnome, firefox and i am using router with dhcp fot
    internet.

    From the shell i can ping websites, but if i try to open a website through
    firefox it says "Page contains no data".

    What can be the problem?

    first try if you got a "lease" from your router
    sudo ifconfig -a

    next check your firefox connection settings (proxy?...)

    tell us more if this does not help

    Disable ipv6 in Firefox. Type in about:config in the address bar, scroll
    down to Networking and disable ipv6.
