Default unable to access microsoft sites...

We are suddenly unable to access any mircrosoft sites that require a sign-in. This includes hotmail, messenger, The Zone, etc. We have made no changes to our setup recently. We are running XP pro. We are able to access all other sites normally

Any ideas what is going on?

    hai Mike,

    Check this:

In Windows XP go to Start then Control Panel
In Control Panel click on User Accounts
In the next dialog click on the Advanced tab
Under Passwords and .NET Passports click Manage Passwords
In this list you should see an entry called
    Passport.Net\* (Passport).
Highlight this entry and click on Remove

And clear the cookies and try to sign-in.

Also check wheter u r Internet explorer settings allow to
    store cookies.

hope it would solve u r problem.

    Warm regards,
    Arun Ganesh.

Default RE: unable to access microsoft sites...

This did not work. I am simply blocked from even getting to the sign-in window for any microsoft site.

Some new info though. It seems our son has "lent" our Windows XP Pro to a friend who activated it over the internet. It was about that time we were suddenly unable to access any microsoft sites that require a password such as hotmail, The zone, MSN forums, etc., though we are able to access other sites normally.

I didnt realize that this type of security feature was in place. Are we never going to be able to access these sites again? What do we need to do to fix this?
