Unable to embed AI CS data to Indd CS

I would like to embed eps/pdf vector format imported from AI CS into Indesign CS and edit the paths. Is there an option to embed it in Indesign CS (like in Indesign CS2)? If there isn't, is there other method to do so?

The technique in either CS or CS2 is to Drag or Copy/Paste the Illustrator graphic on to an InDesign page. It does require a particular preference in Illustrator be set correctly (Something about AICB format to the pasteboard).

I have the same problem with getting my paths from Illustrator to Indesign. I have checked the AICB preference, it is OK. Problem is: when in Indesign the "paste" option is greyed out. Indesign will not allowe me to paste anything at all. Is the problem in Indesign? What do I do to "open it up" for pasting? Preferences?

Have you locked layers in your InDesign document?

Yes. Not possible. (Working in a Norwegian newspaper on a Windows PC)The OS of my computer will not even let my SEE both windows at the same time. Beeing a former mac-user recently forced to work on windows, I may not know of the things I should have done to be able to do this.

What version of Windows are you using that won't allow you to display two windows at once??

I don't understand the whole Windows not allow both programs to show but
I wonder if she isn't trying to get a path with no stroke or fill into
ID. I haven't tried it, but I don't think it will work.
