Unable to enter text

When I try to enter text to a blank page (gray scale, 200 dpi) or to a .jpg image the cursor moves with each character typed (after activating the text tool) but nothing shows on the screen. Changing the selected font does not help.

I'm using PS6 under Win98 SE.

Wow - a virtually immediate response right on the mark. The font color was white, as was the background. I should have known.

So many people get irritated when the first answer is something simple. They're always want to say "I know about computers and I know what this does..."

I know about computers too, and 99% of the errors are because I overlook something simple.

And sometimes with hardware setup, you read the directions four times and do the configuration etc five times the same way with nothing happening. On try six, it works. Now to see why the speakers quit last night.
