Unable to Install Ai 8 on a computer running windows xp

I am unable to install illustrator 8 on my computer running windows xp. Does anyone know of a way around this?

What problems/error messages are you getting Karleen?

You may need to run the setup in XP compatiblility mode. Ai8 was never tested with XP, therefore, there's no way to predict the outcome.

To change the compatiblity mode, right click the setup.exe w/in the AI install folder, and left click properties.
- Click the Compatiblilty tab, and tell it that you're really running windows 95 or 98.

I did change the compatibility mode to 95 and tried 98 also. It still will not load. Any other Ideas?
