I recently purchased a new computer with Windows XP and
it uses wordperfect. When I receive Emails with
attachments sent with Microsoft Word 97 I get this error
message. Can I correct my system to recognize these
attachments?

Well not really since you do not have that app MS Word so you
will have to change the doc, another option is to just purcahse office

Option 1: Purchase MS Word
Option 2: Use Word viewer to open Word 97/2000 files.

Wordpad cannot load the Word 2000/97 files (due to missing filters)
