Hello, I am using a kickstart file to install over ftp. The ftp server is running on an windows 2000 workstation. Default Unable to read header list

    Hello,
I am using a kickstart file to install over ftp. The ftp server is
running on an windows 2000 workstation.

After the installation retrieves the image the following error is
    displayed:

"Unable to read header list. This may be due to a missing file or bad
    media"

The installation tree is as follows:
    C:\ftp\redhat9\RedHat\RPMS

The RPMS directory consists the RPMS from CD2 and CD3 as well.

Would greatly appreciate if anyone can throw some light on the above
error. Also if the method of creating the installation tree is correct
    :

    1. Copy CD 1 under c:\ftp\redhat9
    2. Copy the RPMS of CD2 and CD3 in the c:\ftp\redhat9\RedHat\RPMS
    directory.

    Thanks

Check the ftp server's log which files are missing.

It is a bug of Redhat 9, try a search in google with the words "install ftp
    redhat 9" or "9-updates.img"
You will find there is a 9-updates.img. Use this image to create a new
    floppy disk.
Boot with the first boot disk and U will see the console, type "linux
    updates".
Then, it will prompt U to insert the new "9-updates.img" disk.
Insert the disk and U will success install the system.
