Re: unable to select text
Just try double clicking on the T thumbnail in the text layer. This should work unless you simplified (rasterized) the type.

Unable to select Automatic Tiling.
We are trying to set a 11x17 document to print tiled on 2 8x11's. The print settings dialog box has everything greyed out, including the "None". -
