Unable to Update Adobe Illustrator 9.0 to 9.0.1
I have AI 9.0 and have encounted this problem when attempting update to 9.0.1. XP-Home operating system with plenty of disk space.
Update 950-enu-xp.zip has been downloaded and unzipped.
Setup runs until this error message is encountered "Updating ACE.DLL has failed. Return value in 34."

Check the Ace.dll and make sure it is not set to 'read-only'. Try re-booting the computer and run the install again before opening Illustrator.
