Default Unable to upload .cfm files with webdav

I have a clean install of CFMX 6.1 running on win 2k3 and sql server 2k. using
    DMX for editing.

Whenever I tried to upload any .cfm files using DMX via webdav, I get the
message: "Could not understand server response" >> then "an error has occured
can not put xxx.cfm". but I am able to upload .css, asp, jpg, and txt without
    an issues .

during the installation process I enabled RDS. and if I use RDS to upload the
files to my server it works fine. but I am unable to diable RDS I already tried
commenting the web.xml files and rerunning the configuration wizard but still I
can push up cfm files with DMX.

    Please help.

Default Re: Unable to upload .cfm files with webdav

I have very much the same problem. I've configured my Win 2K3 Server for WebDav
and successfully mapped new WebDAV network connections from my WinXP work
station. The WebDAV connection works fine and I can move just about any file
between my workstation to the server EXCEPT for files with a .cfm extension.
    What's up???

I've tried a variety of permission tweaks and MIME type adjustments, as well
as looked though a lot of WebDAV documentation for Windows 2K3 servers. Nothing
has worked. I get an error message whenever I attempt to move .cfm files to the
server. Also, I can't create a new file and rename it a *.cfm file---the server
balks and forces the "New Web File.html" default file name.

    PLEASE HELP!

    Bryan,

Did anyone get a fix for this? I have a problem with an IIS 6 Server and what
you describe is exactly what I experience. I am now up to 3 days looking for a
buddy solution. I can upload html, etc but no cfm pages.

    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,

I think "cfPeter" eventually found a solution to the problem, but I never
really succeeded in getting it to work for me. In the end, I opted to stick
with FTP for now, though I'd like to turn that off eventually for security
    purposes.

Ahh, here's the email he sent me with the suggested fix.

    Hey Bryan,

After some feisty emailing, I got a hold of a tech support guy who was able to
figure out the problem w/ me. He will write up a tech note, but in the mean
time here are the instructions to get it to work.

We set up separate websites for WebDAV, somewhat per the dreamweaver tech note
    for setting up WebDAV:

    Instructions from Macromedia Tech Support:
"Configure a new site pointing to the home directory of the site you wish to
allow WebDAV access to. Change the port to port 81. Remove anonymous browsing
access, use Integrated Windows Authentication. Give the site Scripts, Read,
Write, Directory Browsing permissions. Change execute permissions to ?none?
(no scripts). Grant user access by adding appropriate Windows permissions to
the site or root directory. In IIS, under Application Settings >
Configuration, remove all mappings for .cfm, .cfc, etc (anything that
references Jrun), and remove Wildcard application mappings. Restart the WWW
    publishing service and rock on."
    ******

Bill, I hope that's helpful! Good luck!
