Unchanged pages require saving - Macromedia Dreamweaver

Here's a peculiar problem that popped in the last week. Every time I open a page in DW MX, it has the star (*) beside the file name, indicating that it needs to be saved. If I try to close the page, the "Save changes to [filename]?" message prompt appears. And yet I haven't made any changes. Any idea what's going on?...

    Not a solution, but ...
I've noticed that sometimes if I open a file and click on a page element, and
then place my cursor in one of the palette fields, then back on the page - the
page will think it has been changed. But never when I just open a file without
    doing the above.

I've noticed it asking me if I want to put certain files because the file is
newer on the remote server when I haven't updated a page in awhile.
Not sure that's related to what you described or not.

Or maybe it's a template change that never was saved?

My best guess is that there is a code error that DW is fixing when
opening the page, which means that the page *has* been changed. Try
validating the code, saving the page, then re-opening it. Do you still
get the indication that it has been changed?
