Re: Uneditable page Properties
I have a similar problem. I have checked the Dreamweaver template syntax and
it's fine, but Contribute 3 won't let my client edit the page properties (we
want tio add or change a page title). It just says "All of this page's
properties are locked by a template, so you can't edit them". But the template
clearly shows the title as editable:
<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="doctitle" -->
<title> </title>
<!-- TemplateEndEditable -->
I am using Dreamweaver 8.0 and Contribute 3.11 on Mac OS 10.4.2

uneditable page properties
Built a template-based site in Dreamweaver 8 for a client to maintain in
Contribiute 3.1
When either one of us is using Contribute, we can't edit the page title.
Normally, to edit the page title, you would access the "page properties" dialog
box. But, I'm getting the message that the page properties are locked in an
uneditable region of the template.
When looking through the Contribute HELP files, I find a reference that
mentions that some of the page properties will not be editable in a
template-based site, but that the page title itself CAN be edited.
Anyone know what might be going on? I have seen other posts of this nature,
but no answers, yet.
Thanks in advance for any advice you might have.

Re: uneditable page properties
Okay, got it figured out. When I look at one of the pages that the template is
applied to (using Dreamweaver 8), the page title is indeed grayed out as being
locked by the template. I guess when you make a page from a template,
everything in the header is locked.
So, I manually went in about put an editable region around the title tag and
VOILA, it works.
