unexpected end-of-file in photo shop?
NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I spent 7 hours working on colouring my comic page last night, and I only had 6 more pointers to add to the word bubbles.
Now, when I go to open it up this morning, it won't let me. The error reads: "Could not open "0.psd" because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered."
I've asked on other boards, and it seems that there's a bad save problem or something like that. I was wondering if there was a way to perform file recovery in photoshop, or if there was a recommended program.
thanks!!

Re: unexpected end-of-file in photo shop?
Probably out of luck, but try IrfanView to try to salvage at least part
of it, if that will help.
It will often open files with EOF errors; at least to where the error
starts (might be 10% of the file, might be most of it intact).
You'll lose layers however.
PhotoShop won't open a file with EOF errors at all, it's all or none.

It might be that PS is sick, rather than the file. After trying Mac's suggestion, reset your prefs [FAQ] and try PS again.
Gotta be worth a shot.

Re: unexpected end-of-file in photo shop?
I hope you're not working over a network, or saving to an external HD?
Either one can help cause corrupt files upon save. And the bad news is,
the files are usually not recoverable, and you never know you kludged
the file until the next time you attempt to open it.
Always work on you local drive(s), especially with larger iamges.

Wow this is a serious Achilles heal! I told all my friends about this. We live in the city, we rush out and some even save via quitting the application, it automatically asks you to save, and this I believe leaves people open for this END-OF-MYAS* stuff. Warn your fellow Photoshoppers.
