Unexpected Quits from FreeHand in OSX

I am getting frequent unexpected quits in Freehand when I switch between pallet menus. It seems to happen most often when clicking between the Styles and the Swatches pallet although I have had it happen elsewhere.

I am working on some old Freehand 9 files.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Tha'ts a new one to me, but a potential solution comes to mind immediately. Try resaving the FH9 files to MX versions, then working on them... save them as copies, so you retain the originals. Once you are working with MX-native file versions, maybe the bug goes away...?

Boot on your installer CD and launch the disk utility. Run the fix permissions. For a good measure you might want to run the Repair Disk option first. Had the same problem and this fixed it right up.

Gang,

We have uncovered a rather unpleasent crash involving document workspace
focus. Switching focus from the Tools Panel to a panel tab may cause the app
to crash. I apologize for the inconvenience and frustration but a fix is in
the works. Thanks for the heads up.
