I work under RH9, and I want to update my OpenOffice.org. I am told that I must first uninstall the existing one. When I try that, going into "Install/uninstall", I get a list of applications, and then the details for "Office". At this point, there are 12 packages, among them OOO which I want to uninstall. All 12 are marked with a tick, and the only option I now seem to have is to install something. How do I uninstall?? Thank you for any help. -- Dieter Britz, Kemisk Institut, Aarhus Universitet...

By not using the gui.
# rpm -qa | grep -i openoffice | xargs rpm -e
And, if necessary:
# rpm -qa | grep -i openoffice | xargs rpm -e --nodeps
