Unlocking .dmg files - Mac Applications & Software

I would like to know if one can unlock a .dmg file through Disk Copy or otherwise to add files to the disk image. For instance, if I download a ..dmg file which I will later burn to CD, I might want to add a read me file or somesuch to the image and then just burn the image in Toast. As far as I've seen, all .dmg files are read-only no matter what I change in the Get Info box, and I can't see any way to do it through Disk Copy. Can this be changed at all? Thanks, ...

    Default Unlocking .dmg files

I would like to know if one can unlock a .dmg file through Disk Copy or
otherwise to add files to the disk image. For instance, if I download a

file or somesuch to the image and then just burn the image in Toast.

As far as I've seen, all .dmg files are read-only no matter what I
change in the Get Info box, and I can't see any way to do it through
Disk Copy. Can this be changed at all?

    Thanks,
