Unpublished Drafts - Macromedia Contribute General Discussion

Hi again Folks! I have a problem with Unpublished Drafts it seems. I went into Edit My Connections and got this message [IMG]http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a173/JoeWood_/Misc/Unpubl-Drafts.jpg I've seen a similar message about unpublished drafts before but never when I choose Edit Connections. Hi,
Please try clearing the preferences after quitting Contribute. And reconnect to the site.

Sorry Dominic, but how would I clear the preferences? Also, I'm not sure what
you mean by reconnect to the site. Do you mean with a new connection key?

I've had a lck file issue for years

0&threadid=1415592&enterthread=y

which I just resolved with ThinkInk's help (a new connection key) and I don't
want to mess that up!

Thanks again ThinkInk! You helped make my life so much easier.

Hi Joe,
Here are the steps how to clear the Contribute Preferences:
For Mac, Contribute CS4
1) Quit Contribute.
2) (a) Go to "user/Library/Preferences" and delete the file "Adobe Contribute
5 Preferences".
(b) Go to "user/Library/Application Support/Adobe/" remove "Contribute CS4".
If you use CS3, then delete "Adobe Contribute 4.1 Preferences" and "Contribute
CS3" folder.

For Win, Contribute CS4
1) Quit Contribute.
2) From Command prompt run the below two commands to remove the preferences
a) reg delete "HKCU\Software\Adobe\Contribute 5" /f
b) RD /S /Q "%Userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Contribute
CS4"
If you use CS3, then
a) reg delete "HKCU\Software\Adobe\Contribute 4.1" /f
b) RD /S /Q "%Userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Contribute
CS3"

Now launch Contribute and connect with your old connection key, no need to
create a new one.
Hope this helps you.

Dominic, I have no idea even what a command prompt is so your directions look a
little daunting to me.

Would there be any problem if I just let this alone and not do anything about
it?

I just went thru 4 years of LCK file issues, and finally got it resolved

Darn, sorry I forgot that Dominick! I've been using these forums for so long
(about my lck file issue) I just assumed everyone knew my OS and contribute
version by now :-)

I'm using win xp home, and it's CS3.

Dominic, I'm afraid of ing something up and causing that lck file problem
I had for so long, to return.

Seems like everything's finally working as it should. I think I'll just leave
it alone. I do appreciate you trying to help me out! some good people on these
forums, thanks again!
