unrecoverable file works on other PCs
After four weeks with InDesign I've come across my first problem and it's a
damn nuisance.
When I try to open a file, I get a message saying InDesign exe has generated
errors and will be closed by Windows.
It closes down, I open it again and it offers to recover the file. If I
click Yes, it pauses a moment, and I get the same error message as above.
If I give the file to a coworker running the identical machine to mine
(Win2000, 1Gb RAM, CS etc) it opens fine, but there's the pale orange
shading behind most of the text, which means, I think, being new to this,
that the font or font type is not available. If he saves it under a
different name it still won't open on my machine.
Unfortunately, this is the first "proper" document I've worked on in ID, and
it's due, like yesterday.
What do I do? Reinstall? I've trashed the defaults and something else,
deleted Temp files, that sort of thing. Any suggestions would be most
welcome.

Solved the problem in a flash of inspiration. When opened on my co-worker's
PC, one font has the prawn-coloured highlighting (which means what
exactly?).
I deleted this font from my font folder, and the file opens normally. Phew!
Glad I didn't go to all the trouble of reinstalling.
