Default Unusual Application Error when saving

Often when i try and save a document in Illustrator 10, i get a message saying 'can't save Illustration' and sometimes 'not enough memory' even though i am working with a 120 GB hard drive and 1056MB of RAM. I have barely used a quarter of the systems space.

No matter what i try, i just cannot save my documents, even after restarting etc. If i shut the program down, often it won't reopen and i get a message saying -

    (Illustrator.exe - Application error)
The instruction at ''Ox03626220'' referenced memory at ''Ox034a0724'' The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate program.

I am working on a DELL system with Windows XP. Please help me!

Default Re: Unusual Application Error when saving

I feel your pain. Instead of trying to 'save' or 'save as', try 'export'. Then you can select earlier versions of illustrator. I think this will help.
