Default Unwanted Vertical Lines when printing from Illustrator 7

I have searched the manual, forums and troubleshooting and cannot find this topic. I have an illustration which incorporates a photo I created in photoshop. When I print the Illustrator file, the photo prints with thin dark grey vertical lines that are spaced app 3/4 of an inch apart (they do not consistently appear across the photo, and on set is spaced a full inch apart).

These lines appear no matter what printer I print to--including when I print to Adobe Acrobat PDF writer. No other illustrator file gives me this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What happens if you print the image from Photoshop?

Has the image been re-sized in Illustrator? What ppi is the image at?

PS - I have deleted your duplicate topic. Please only post in one Topic for one problem. Not only will this make it easier for you to find the replies but also has the added advantage of avoiding upsetting the natives.

Thank you for correcting my mistake.

The graphic prints just fine from photoshop.

Yes I have resized it in Illstrator (all my other files have resized photos in them without this problem).

    The resolution is 300 ppi.

    Chuck,

Suggest you re-size in Photoshop to 300 ppi at the size you want in
Illustrator, re-place the image and see if it then prints OK

    Len,

Your original question spurred me to do just that (or, at least I resized it to much closer to the size I needed), and it now prints fine.

Thank you for your gracious attention and help.

Out of idle curiosity--Do you know any explanation as to why it does this?

    You're welcome, Chuck.

I was guessing that you had re-sized the image smaller effectively
increasing the image rez to a point where the printer firmware was having
    difficulty in handling it.
