Update manager hangs up
Over the past few weeks I've repeatedly been notified upon opening Acrobat Professional that there are updates to download (7.0.8). But every time I try to download them, the Update Manager gets to about 95% done "Installing Update 1 of 3" and then stops. The progress bar still has the ripples running through it, but 24 hours go by and the bar doesn't progress anymore.
Any idea what's wrong?

Re: Update manager hangs up
Which version of the OS are you running? 10.3.x, 10.4.x, or 10.5.x? Can you go in and select the updates one at a time instead of all at once?

Re: Update manager hangs up
Mac OS 10.5.5
The updates window is set up as if I'm supposed to be able to select updates. It lists Acrobat updates 7.1.0, 7.0.5, 7.0.7, 7.0.8, and 7.0.9 as "Current Updates" to the left; to the right, under "Selected Updates" it displays 7.1.0 and 7.0.9. In between the windows are 'add' and 'remove' buttons; however, they're grayed out when I click on the two in the "selected updates' window; I can't remove them. I *can* add the others.
Just now I tried downloading ALL of them, instead of the two that are preselected, but ran into the same problem. It tried to install 7.0.9 first. Wouldn't it be more logical to install 7.0.5 first?

Re: Update manager hangs up
Acrobat 7 is not supported on OS 10.5, so that could be the primary source of your problem.
I do think I saw a similar issue before though, trying to remember how I was able to reset the updater... If you simply delete the updater folder (in your system or user Library, I forget exactly where), it should be recreated after relaunching Acrobat and selecting Help | Updates... After that, try to select only the 7.0.9 and 7.1.0 updates without 7.0.5 etc.
If that fails, you can always download the patches and try to apply them manually. They can be found at <http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/>
