Update non-editable regions of Dreamweaver Template
I have a site that I built in Dreamweaver, and it uses templates. The templates
have non-editable regions for areas I don't want others to update. But...now I
want to update them, without disturbing the updates that others may be making
to the site.
What is the best way to go about doing this? Is it doable within Contribute,
as an Administrator? Or are Administrators locked out of these regions as well?
Should it be done using Dreamweaver locally, and then is there a way to update
the template on the remote host? Please help.
Thanks!

Re: Update non-editable regions of Dreamweaver Template
From what I can tell, Contribute cannot be used to edit DW templates. This must
still be done using DW, following the necessary steps to update all files using
that template (or those templates), including downloading any possibly changed
files before applying the template changes, and then uploading them to the
server. You may want to inform your users that you will be updating templates,
and therefore the site, at such and such a time, will not be available for
editing and users should not be making any changes. Any drafts waiting for your
approval (if that is how you administer the site) should be approved or
deleted. The template changes should be reflected on any pages currently in the
site when the changes are applied.
