Updated Movie won't play right
I'm editing a 7.0 project in Director in 8.0. The client sent me DMfade xtra
that goes with the movie. I put it in the Xtras folder. When I create a
projector the images aren't showing up. Is it a problem with DMfade?
Also, there is an external cast file .cst, do I need to update it and the .dir
in "update movies"?
Thanks for help,

Re: Updated Movie won't play right
Upon further testing its not the dmfade that's a problem, since I switched transitions. It looks like none of the pics from the external cast want to show up. Any suggestions?
Thank you

Director serial number. It sounds as if that one is tied to your client's
copy of Dir7. Even when upgrading Director, we have to get a new serial
number from DMTools (at no cost) by providing them part of the new Director
version's serial number.
Not sure why the cast members aren't showing up. Is the castLib linked to
the movie? Do they appear in Authoring mode?
Yes, Macromedia recommends using the "update movies" feature on casts and
movies - particularly with those versions.
