updater 11.02
Hi Guys,
I have successfully installed FreeHand MX (version 11.0), which was done a
while ago. I have found that Macromedia now has a new update available. I have
downloaded and installed the Update 11.02, but when I click the
fhmx_1102_updater.exe program I am told that I have not got Freehand installed.
That is not quite true, actually I do!
How can I get the updater to recognize my FH MX (11.0) version? Are there any
tricks or has Macromedia yet again stuffed up its updates???
Cheers,

Re: updater 11.02
Macromedia decided to make an update most complicated as it is possible. This
only because of the new registrationprocess, with it they want to collect data
of you :-/
I work with freehand many years, but with this Macromedia-joke they will loose
loyal customers. The joke is, that you do not get a real serialnumbers as
before, if freehand wont start anymore, at the next start it want phone home
again for registration again. That happend two times after updating, and it is
only very annoying.
If macromedia givs me a real serialnumber for MX and for an reinstalling after
problems with the programm or the system, i#ll give freehand another chance.
but without this, MX was my last update!

Re: updater 11.02
Okay, I agree that it's annoying to have to use a registered serial number
that only works for one user. Can you offer a better way to prevent software
piracy?
Software Piracy Hits $29 Billion in Losses

"In a new study, the Business Software Alliance estimated that 36 percent of
all the software installed in 2003 was pirated, resulting in a loss of $29
billion in revenue. Small businesses were cited as a factor often
contributing to piracy."
