updating
So I've been asked to look into a design question for our company.
We're looking toward building a web delivered product sometime down the road. (2 to 5 years ship date) And we are looking at different schema's One that has perked minds above is of shipping media with the bulk of the assets, 3D, textures, video, audio as well as some scripting etc. to the customer. And then downloading and updating scripts via the web.
With this idea we wouldn't really have to limit our art count/quality as much as it wouldn't be necessary to download the entire media library. But we could always assure that the customer had the latest logic and scripts.
anyone have any thoughts on this idea. Or other ways that a large director based project might be delivered via internet? The scope of our project is similar to the "Mia" software that has been created with Director.

Re: updating
After more thought on this it occurs to me that far and away the bulk of the distribution is going to be media and there is probably no advantage to giving a customer 500MB on disk and then asking them to download 500K. It would make far more sense to just distribute the whole thing or go to a lighter weight solution like Flash.
if anyone has input it's welcome
