Default Updating AI Files causes position to 'bounce' when updating in Quark

Is there any way to build Illustrator files so that no matter what edit you might come back and make to the AI file, when you update the modified file in Quark, the position can't shift in Quark.?

Default Re: Updating AI Files causes position to 'bounce' when updating in Quark

    Nope.

Quark will always place the image from the upper left hand corner. If you make any changes to your file that change the upper the left edges of the image area it will reposition when you update.

You could create all your documents over a background box, and never do any edits which go outside of that box. You could put that background box into locked a layer which is set to Show but not Print. Seems kind of limiting to me, though. I'd rather just deal with double-checking the position of updated images, normally.
