Last year I built a Contribute site for a client in DW MX2004, then set them up
with Contribute 3 on their PC where they?ve since been maintaining it - all
well and good. :) I've just had an email from them and they want me to make
some changes on their behalf.

Most of the changes I?ll need to make are in the editable areas ? adding
images, formatting text, and adding an iFrame. I?ll also need to open up a php
include file (that I originally set up as the menu) and add a new link to it.

As I don?t have Contribute myself....

1) Can I just download my client?s website files, make the changes myself
using Dreamweaver and then upload the changed files? Or will doing this mess up
my client?s Contribute settings in some way? (I?m thinking of those .LCK files,
_mm directory, and whether they have something in them that ensures some kind
of synchronicity with Contribute)

2) If I make the changes myself in DW and then upload them, then the next time
my client wants to update the site in Contribute, will he have to set up a new
connection to it, or can he just carry on and Contribute will automatically
recognise the changes I made?

(Apologies if I?m demonstrating a fundemantal misunderstanding here)

Thanks in advance.
