Upgrade to Tiger: Cannot Enable Commenting in Reader
After upgrading to 10.4 (and then to 10.4.1), I can no longer enable documents for commenting in Adobe reader. When I click on Comments>Enable for Commenting in Adobe Reader ..., Acrobat does its thing, creates the file, but fails with an error box stating "You do not have permission to write to this file". Permissions for the file and the directory are not a problem. This worked without a problem under 10.3.9.
Acrobat Professional version 7.0.1
Acrobat Reader version 7.0.1
Anyone else seeing this after upgrading to MacOSX 10.4.1?

Re: Upgrade to Tiger: Cannot Enable Commenting in Reader
Worked for me. Try to fix permissions and run the unix cron jobs using a
utility like Macjanitor.

Also make sure you're not trying to enable a pdf that has already been enabled. or pdf that comes from the Designer application.

Re: Upgrade to Tiger: Cannot Enable Commenting in Reader
Apparently, my problem was caused by my working on an NFS-mounted file system. When the file is on my local disk, no problems.

Re: Upgrade to Tiger: Cannot Enable Commenting in Reader
I've noticed that permissions switch from default to some kind of limited subset if you access a file through Spotlight (which seems to be the source of a lot of problems ATM) but if I access files directly (Not through a Spotlight search) there is no premissions problem. I've seen it primarly with mounted drives.
