Uploading a site to a live server?
Hi ... can anyone offer some advice. I'm new to Coldfusion and have
successfully installed the developer edition and ran through the getting
started tutorial without any problems. I now want to FTP this to a live web
server running Coldfusion.
How do I do it? Do I simply need to FTP all the associated files? I'm not sure
if I need to some how set-up the Coldfusion Data Source on the live server? Can
anyone please give me some 'straight forward' guidelines to follow.
Many thanks
SHACK

Re: Uploading a site to a live server?
Speak to your hosting company they will help you out. They need to set up a DSN for you and they will give you the ftp details. You can upload your site with Dreamweaver or some other ftp program.

Re: Uploading a site to a live server?
DSN is your Data Source Name. I assume you are familiar with how to set one up
in the CF Administrator. Well your hosting company have to do the same thing so
that you application can connect to your databse.
