Uploading and encoding videos on FMS
We are building a community based video site in flash where users can upload
video files in all formats. Is it possible to upload and encode videos to flv
on the Flash Media Server with the Flash Media Encoder? Or do we need something
else for that?

Re: Uploading and encoding videos on FMS
not exactly; but thats hardly a challenge while using FMS.
FMS supports virtual Directory mappings which also works over a network share;
Using a apache for uploading should be fine;
One can use free tools like ffmpeg (for sorenson codec with least compression)
or other free/paid tools for trans-coding into On2 Vp6 (much better
quality/filesize ratio Or H.264 (even more better) and put these files into a
network share accessible from FMS video on demand application.
