I purchased Contribute 1 three years ago and downloaded it from the
Adobe site without any problem, but now it seems I cannot purchase the
upgrade to Contribute 3 in the same way. My order is blocked each time
because I am in Japan.

Adobe customer service have advised me that I am not eligible for a
download because I am in Japan. I have attempted to order a hard copy
from other online sites, but they won't ship to Japan either (well,
there is one company whose arm I'm still attempting to twist, but I
don't hold out much hope). The only copy it seems I can get is from a
Japanese seller, but that is a Japanese-language version and I don't
think it'll work to upgrade the English-language version I already have.
Anyway, I want it in English.

The odd thing is, I was able to download the 30-day trial version from
Adobe with no trouble at all, so I have the software sitting on my
computer, and all I need to activate it is a valid code number.

I'm perfectly happy to pay a reasonable price to upgrade to contribute
3, but can't seem to find any way to do so.

Can anyone see a way round this problem?
