    Select your object, hit [V] on your keyboard, hit enter, fill in dialogue. (Illustrator just calls it something less stupid than {gag} Corel)

    You can also use arithmetic expressions in the transform palette -- i.e. modify existing values using '+' or '-' and the delta value you desire. You can even change units on the fly for just the delta value -- e.g. X: 5.25 in + 3 pt.
