Never Happen To Me...
I avoid Rinky-Dink Third Party Applications like the plague and in the very
unlikely event the scenario you describe above transpired I would UNINSTALL
and ash-can the Third Party App LONG before I would start removing Microsoft
KB patches as a work-around.
Ergo, ONCE AGAIN, I say PUT IT IN THE OPERATING SYSTEM, MICROSOFT.
I do not want the hassle of having to strap on some Third Party, Rinky-Dink
App to do the job.
'Nuff Said.

You have a choice--a computer that works or a room decoration with a firewall. Most people I know keep them turned off.
