Using Any Font when Adding Text
I have upgraded to v7 Pro edition. Overall, I very nice upgrade.
However, I used to use Option+click to add a line of text to a PDF document using any font of my choosing. Now, I cannot use any font and get the message that the font cannot be embedded. I do not want to embed the font...only use a font of my choosing then print to a laser printer. This line of text is not intended for use to an imagesetter.
My only choice is Arial. That's it. Not Arial Bold or Verdana Bold or Helvetica, etc. Even when using a PostScript font, I cannot make the change.
Thanks, in advance.

Re: Using Any Font when Adding Text
Thanks for your reply, Jon.
I have tried both saving or using the PDF as is. This line of text is merely for internal use only. The PDF is generated from FileMaker Pro from a quoting system and if the job requires extra info, we add the line at the top of the PDF. I am using Distiller to create the PDF and use the Standard setting. This setup worked in Acrobat 4, 5 and 6.
After entering the line of text, I control+click to edit the properties, in this case the font.
First Message:
"The compatible system font and the document font may differ and some characters may look different. If the font is not on your system, there will be no way to re-embed it. Do you want to proceed?"
Second Message after choosing Yes:
"The change to a different font was not done because the chosen font and the font encodings in the document differ and could not be resolved."

Re: Using Any Font when Adding Text
Does this occur if you even choose a really wacky font from your system
whilst editing?

Re: Using Any Font when Adding Text
Yes. Any font and I've tried some strange ones. Only Arial works; not even Arial Bold.
