Default Using dreamweaver exported site

I am trying to use a new Dreamweaver mx 2004 site from another workstation.
(This is the very time I have ever used Dreamweaver before.)

I obtained a copy of the exported site by using the following url:

http://livedocs.macromedia.com/dreamweaver/mx2004/using/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/ht
ml/wwhelp.htm?context=Using_Dreamweaver&file=05_sit22 .htm

However now that I have the site defined as "app.ste", I want to be able to
use all the files in the macromedia site. However, All this does is give me a
reference to where the original files are located at.

Thus basically, how can I obtain a copy of all the files so that I can edit
the "app.ste"? The person that developed the web app is no longer at this
company. i want to know how to get ahold of this code and make the necessary
changes to the site.
(Note: this application uses alot of templates. I need to make certain that I
can save all the links between all the templates and all the pages.)

Thanks for your help!

Huh?

You define the site on the new workstation to point to a location on your
hard drive, and to contain the info for connecting to your remote site. You
connect to the remote site. You select all the files on the remote site,
and you GET all the files from the remote site to the local site. Now you
have all the site's files, EXCEPT you may not have the Templates - if they
were not uploaded, you will not have them there to download. Since
Templates have no function on the remote server, there is no real reason to
upload them.

Default Re: Using dreamweaver exported site

I am having problems with Dreamweaver mx 2004 templates for entire Macromedia
site linking together.

My company bought me a Universal Macromedia license. This is the first time I
am trying to use Macromedia.

I am the only fulltime web programmer at this company. I am trying to use the
Macromedia code that the previous web programmer wrote. (If I am not able to
do it, a contractor will probably use "DEVNET" instead of Macromedia.)

I basically copied and pasted the other programmer's code to the harddrive of
my workstation. I have setup a macromedia site. I am using my own workstation
as the testing server since I am running IIS version #5.

When I run the navigation link checker for my entire site, I see there are
linkage problems with all the templates. What is the best way to solve my
problem?
Is there a way that I can copy this code from the previous employees
workstation to my own and not have these linkage problems? Or should I follow
the directions on how to fix each problem link?

Thanks for your help!
