Using Fireworks MX, Dreamweaver MX 2004
    1. When I choose a photo on a page and wish to adjust it in Fireworks I am
asked to find the file when Fireworks first opens. If I cancel that dialog
box the proper photo arrives and is then available to work on. Why doesn't
it just arrive there without having to cancel the dialog box? Do I need to
    change a setting somewhere?

    2. Why can't I select a photo from within an image's folder to have this
'round-tripping' take place? I've found I must select the image after it has
    been placed on a page.
    Hope I've been clear.

The main reason is that Fireworks defaults to asking for the original PNG
file, when it is launched from an external application like DW.

You can change this by going to EDIT>PREFERENCES and choosing the Launch
and Edit Tab, and changing the options from "Ask for..." to "Never Use PNG"
    or "Never Use Source file".
