Using gcc/ObjC from shell, which libraries are needed? - Mac Programming

I'm trying to explore ObjC using the shell command line, and find I an not including the correct libraries or frameworks. How do you know which libraries are needed? I cannot find any doentation on the libraries anywhere... David ( dhoerl32 at mac period com - but drop the 32)...

    Use the Foundation framework. If you also need Cocoa, use the Cocoa
    framework.

    It depends on what functions and/or classes you're using. Generally the
    things you need to #include or #import dictate the libraries and
    frameworks you need to use at the command line.

    For Cocoa you'd need either "-framework Foundation" or "-framework
    Cocoa". For other stuff, it's impossible to say without some idea what
    your code is trying to do.
