Using normal PMS color?
I need to use "normal" PMS color for a job, and the only swatch libraries I have included in Illustrator CS are:
PANTONE Solid Coated
PANTONE Solid Matte
PANTONE Solid Uncoated
PANTONE Process Coated
..
..
etc
Could someone tell me which of these are considered normal PMS color, OR do I need to download a different library from somewhere, if so, where?
Thanks

Re: Using normal PMS color?
Mike,
PANTONE Solid Coated - For printing on Coated Stock
PANTONE Solid Matte - For printing on Matte Stock
PANTONE Solid Uncoated - For printing on Uncoated Stock
In each case exactly the same printed results will be seen - the 3 libraries
are there purely to give a better on-screen representation of the finished
job.

Re: Using normal PMS color?
This job is actually for a logo that will be embroided on a T-shirt, the 3 PANTONE swatch lib's I provided were just examples I had to choose from.. there's actually 10 PANTONE libs altogether.
What I really need to know is, how to set the colors in this logo to be, what the printer/embroider considers, "normal" PMS color.. (ie: Not, Coated or Matte Uncoated etc) .. just using the normal PMS if there is such a thing.
Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it!

Re: Using normal PMS color?
Probably what your printer was worried about, was that you would use just some random cymk color, rather then a spot color.
Pantone Solid uncoated should satisify them.
