Using Template in New File

:confused; I am trying to create a new file using a template already created.
When the document comes up the template shows up on my design screen with the
images. BUT, when I F12 to preview in my browser all the images are missing.
Then when I go back into my design and I click Modify/Templates/Apply Template
to Page, the template shows up in the browser! How do I make Dreamweaver to
default to Apply the Template automatically when I select it from File New?
I have other co-workers who are doing the exact same thing as I and working
off the same server and theirs works just fine. Could my Dreamweaver have
gotten corrupt? Thanks!

Ok, I am using templates (das.dwt is the name of my template). I open up my
Dreamweaver MX 2004. I click File/New and from the Templates tab, I choose my
defined site (named DAS) and choose the template I want to use (das.dwt).
Then I click Create. In design mode I can see my template and because it is
locked I cannot touch it I can only type in the "content" area (which is what I
want). I save this file. When I look at it in my browser, the images that
were in my template (that looked fine in design view) are all missing. They
are there but they are not pointing to the right path, therefore show up as
missing images. HOWEVER, if I go back into my Dreamweaver to that same file I
saved (that looks fine in design mode), and if I click on
Modify/Templates/Apply Template to Page, it brings up a list of templates for
my site and I select the same template, das.dwt and now when I look at it in my
browser it looks fine.

My question is, why doesn't it apply the template correctly when I do it from
File/New?

I my co-workers are doing this same exact thing I am doing and it works fine
for them. Thanks for your help!

Do you think it would have something to do with my template and not some kind
of settings in Dreamweaver? As I mentioned before, it works perfect on my
co-workers machines. I have attached the code, but it's not just this
template. It's any template I try to use with File/New...

That code looks normal for a template page.

Please tell me - where is your local site located? Is it local to your
computer?

Also, tell me how you are set to preview in Browser (EDIT | Preferences >
Preview in Browser) - are you using temp files to preview?
