Using the Knife tool
I'm trying to cut a line in Illustrator 9 on Mac OS 9. I drag either the curved or hold option to draw a straight cut with the knife. It won't cut any lines! These are lines made up of 2 points each. What's going on? I drew the original line with the pen tool.

Re: Using the Knife tool
It doesn’t work on open paths. Use the pen tool to draw some extra segments on your path and close it. Then use the Knife tool to cut it, and delete the unwanted added elements.

Or use the scissors tool on the open path.
