v into @ shape - advice please
Hi all
Just after advice to create a @ symbol but using a "v" instead of an "a" - what is the best method? I have tried using the pen tool to add points etc and bend the right hand side of the "v" around but I can't seem to get a completely uniform width in the curve (my pen skills are still beginner). Is there a quick fix or is it just practice, practice, practice - if the later...is there a way to ensure/measure uniformity of width.
FYI I am after a very fat type @ using ariel black converted to outlines.
Hope this makes sense.
thanks

Re: v into @ shape - advice please
Latchet,
I would suggest:
1) copying the @ and the v into locked layers;
2) Drawing the centre line with the pen tool, using anchor points where the curve is vertical or horizontal (side, top, side, bottom, using the Shift key), adjusting the direction lines on the way to fit;
3) Increasing the stroke width and creating outlines to fit the width at the top of the v (Arial black v does not have uniform width);
4) Final adjustments; this may include adding anchor points at the bottom of the v, snipping off the projecting pointed part, and narrowing the bottom; or you may use an Arial black v changed into outlines.
If you are as silly as I you may follow these suggestion.
