Variable number of columns -> problem Update Command - ASP.NET Data Grid Control

Hi, I have a datagrid control connected to a dataset filled dinamically ( variable number of columns). The data colums are created using some templates (edit & item). The first column is an EditCommandColumn (Links) . Everything is looking fine until here. Wen I press the "Update" link and the gridUpdate(...) event is triggered the e.Item.Cells collection has only one column ( the editcommand column defined in the html template). How can I access the data stored in the other columns? (e.Item.Cells[n] is not working only when n == 0) (The edit templates contain only an textbox ... I don't ...

    Default Variable number of columns -> problem Update Command

    Hi,

    I have a datagrid control connected to a dataset filled dinamically (
    variable number of columns).
    The data colums are created using some templates (edit & item).
    The first column is an EditCommandColumn (Links) .
    Everything is looking fine until here.

    Wen I press the "Update" link and the gridUpdate(...) event is triggered the
    e.Item.Cells collection has only one column ( the editcommand column defined
    in the html template).
    How can I access the data stored in the other columns? (e.Item.Cells[n] is
    not working only when n == 0)

    (The edit templates contain only an textbox ... I don't use the boundcolumn
    because the texbox must have width=40px)

    Have you any ideea?
    Thankx,
    -radu
