    Default Variables in html and user creation

    im literate in html and im still wondering how a site like that neo pets game [url]http://www.neopets.com[/url] has users create there own names, be able to log on next time, and then have a users set variables, id like to make a game like this. BUT MUCH more simplistic. fill me in on what i may need to do. or if this is completly out of reach

    Completely out of reach? No. But a LOT of work in programming/building the site Yes.
    To me coldfusion is the best to use to build the backend. The front end you need a designer to make the look and feel.
    In short you have to learn a programming language, I vote for coldfusion.
    HTML is a 50/50 thing, as there are many programs that make building a web page a breeze.

    I learnt HTML by myself in 3 days....ok sleep was not an option back then.
    Coldfusion was learnt by reading the book cover to cover.
