VB6 App to ASP - ASP Database

Hi All, I am trying to change all of the software I have written for my company into web based applications. So far I have managed with the transition. I have got to a point where I am trying to retrieve a variable from one form to another. The source form comprises of a file upload using ASPUpload which works successfully. Default VB6 App to ASP

    Hi All,

I am trying to change all of the software I have written for my company into
web based applications. So far I have managed with the transition.

I have got to a point where I am trying to retrieve a variable from one form
to another. The source form comprises of a file upload using ASPUpload which
works successfully. Within this form is a hidden field called ID which is
    derived from a previous form.

When I try and retrieve ID from the destination form I get the following
    error:

    Error Type:
    Request object, ASP 0207 (0x80004005)
Cannot use Request.Form collection after calling BinaryRead.
    /sale_properties/submission/submission3.asp, line 31

Would somebody be so kind as to help me around this problem.

    Regards

    Paul

You'll have to use the ASP Upload object to get at the form elements. The
component should expose its own collection of the other form elements.
Check the doentation for that component. It's probably something like

    sSomeField = yourObject.Form("fieldName")

The impression i have is upload components often require the enctype
attribute of the html form to be "multipart form-data".
The component uses a binary read while performing the upload. Request.form
can't interpret form data with this enctype.

As ray has suggested, the asp upload component will have its own api for
    getting the information you require.
Just go through the appropriate doentation.

Thanks for that, it was in the doentation. I did read it last night but
must have skimmed over that section.
