I am still getting null companyname fields in the collection, although there are no null/empty companynames in either qryCompanies or qryTmp. In fact, the same 3 or 4 rows are coming through blank, and there are no special characters of any sort in the fields... ? Verity Collection from Query - Null Body - Coldfusion - Advanced Techniques

I am having problems with populating a Verity collection from a query. The query: <cfquery name="getCategories" datasource="#application.dsn#"> select category_keyword_id, category_keyword from #table# where category_keyword is not null </cfquery> The query results are correct, but when the collection is refreshed there are null category_keyword fields (body) for rows that are correctly populated in the query. <cfindex action="refresh" collection="SourcesCategories" key="category_keyword_id" type="custom" title="SourcesCategories" query="getCategories" body="category_keyword" language="English"> I have purged the collection, refreshed the collection, repaired it and optimized it. Default Verity Collection from Query - Null Body

    I am having problems with populating a Verity collection from a query. The
    query:

    <cfquery name="getCategories" datasource="#application.dsn#">
    select category_keyword_id, category_keyword
    from #table#
    where category_keyword is not null
    </cfquery>

    The query results are correct, but when the collection is refreshed there are
    null category_keyword fields (body) for rows that are correctly populated in
    the query.

    <cfindex action="refresh" collection="SourcesCategories"
    key="category_keyword_id" type="custom" title="SourcesCategories"
    query="getCategories" body="category_keyword" language="English">

    I have purged the collection, refreshed the collection, repaired it and
    optimized it. Then deleted it and started over.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Are you using Oracle or CLOB fields, by chance? Also, which version of CFMX
    are you using? One thing you might want to try is installing the latest
    DataDirect database drivers to get up to version 3.5 (technote:
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/42dcb10a)

    Thanks for the tip; we are on MX6.1. My network administrator will install the drivers and I'll get back to you!

    Pranic:
    We've installed the patch, with no improvement in any of the collections I'm
    working with.
    We are on CFMX 6.1, using MSSQL 2000 sp 3a.
    The fields are datatype varchar.
    For another example, I have a table:

    tblCompanies
    record_id (unique id)
    companyname

    <cfquery name="qryCompanies">
    select distinct companyname
    from companies
    where companyname is not null
    and companyname <> ''
    </cfquery>

    <!-- this to create unique keys -->
    <cfset qryTmp = querynew(qryTmp,"companyname,tmpkey")>
    <cfoutput query="qryCompanies">
    <cfset tmp = queryaddrow(qryTmp)>
    <cfset tmp = querysetcell(qryTmp,"companyname",companyname)>
    <cfset tmp = querysetcell(qryTmp,"tmpkey",currentrow)>
    </cfoutput>

    <cfindex action="refresh" collection="sourcesCompanies" key="tmpkey"
    type="custom" title="companyname" query="qryTmp" body="companyname"
    language="English">

    I am still getting null companyname fields in the collection, although there
    are no null/empty companynames in either qryCompanies or qryTmp. In fact, the
    same 3 or 4 rows are coming through blank, and there are no special characters
    of any sort in the fields...

    ?
