Verity Update Not Working
I'm running ColdFusion 5 on a Dual PIII 533 MhZ system with over a gig of RAM
and Apache. A little out-dated, but its handled all our needs well so far.
About two years ago I set up a Verity Collection on it and it was all good.
Yesterday, I needed to make a new one for a site and populate it. When I try
to do the Update, however, it never ever finishes. Its not a huge thing, less
than 200 PDFs. I tried just leaving it running, but even after an hour and a
half, its still just sitting there, with no status update and no time out. I
don't remember the other collection taking nearly this long, and it had over
1000 pdfs plus web pages indexed into it. I've tried restarting Apache and
ColdFusion to clear out the memory. I tried scheduling it to run last night
when the server wouldn't really be in use, but I'm guessing it never finished
since it didn't do the email notification I'd put at the end.
What should I look at to try and fix this problem? I can NOT upgrade to MX 7
at this time. I have the license, but all of the sites on the server must be
tested to be sure they'll still work, etc.
