    Default Version Compatibility v8 --> MX ?

    I have an old Director v8 file and I would like to continue working on it in MX but it appears that I cannot open it in MX. Is there a quick way to convert the file so that I can use it in MX? I don't have v8.5 which I assume could act as an intermediate step and solve my problem.

    Any ideas?

    I haven't had a problem with this, what error message are you getting? There
    maybe a few script problems but I haven't come across any yet all my files
    seem to go into MX without probs (final last words, nothing will work
    tomorrow now I've said that :-( ) )

    Saying that I've just seen a post on this forum (Director MX behaving
    strangely!) which you might (although it depends on your state of mind at
    the moment ;-) whether you want to look at it or not right now, doesn't look
    like good news) want to look at. It was posted by stunt-monkey, have a look
    and start worrying, I've been playing with MX and converted a few files
    which seem fine, but I haven't released anything converted from 8 yet. Now
    it seems I have a good reason why not to even try.
