Default Vertical Spread - still not possible?

    Hello,

I've searched pretty extensively, read the help, etc. and the last time this particular question was asked was 8/03 - not sure which version of InDesign that member had.

    I'm on WinXP, InD 3.01, 2G memory.

I'm laying out a beer menu - it's a landscape layout, bound at the top (like a calendar). The paper size is tabloid, folded in half to finish to an 11 x 8.5 booklet. The final print job will be from an Acrobat file that will be printed "in-house" at a beverage distributor (in other words, a tabloid laser or some such unknown device).

Of course, this is a long list of beers - approximately 8-12 pages after insertion of logos, beer trivia... (If you're into beer, this is truly an awesome list :-)

Any recommendations on how to set this up so it will be reasonably easy to edit and then able to impose to Acrobat? I haven't done a booklet bound at the top before... And yes, I agree it would be much better if it were going to a real pre-press/printer - but it's not an option.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Best,
    Cindy

    Test file: Setup 12 pages landscape 11 x 8.5.
Using Inbooklet, will only setup side by side, not head to head as needed in your calendar to fit tabloid.

I think you would have to use the upgrade version available at

    Thank you Karen!

The InBooklet plugin is pretty expensive for such a small job. ($400!) Especially since I usually send these sorts of files to the prepress department of my printer... not sure I'd ever use InBooklet again.

I guess I may have to create the file as you suggested and then create the tabloid layouts by hand with the finished file... not fun.

    Again, appreciate the help.
