Very frustrated Installer!
I've seen several other posts here with the same or similar problem...but not
one solution...even from Macromedia themselves. Ok...maybe there is one...but
I haven't found one after DAYS of searching.
THE PROBLEM:
After unzipping the file and attempting to install the .msi file...I receive
the following error (I believe this is a WinZip error message:
"It does not look like your system is configured to properly view this file.
You can continue, but the file you are trying to view may look "wrong"..."
If I click "OK" NOTEPAD attempts to open...but never displays anything. I've
tried this on TWO different machines...both running Windows XP w/ SP2.
THE SOLUTION:
Hopefully one of you kind folks will provide it!

Re: Very frustrated Installer!
Sounds like the file type is associated with a program,
Try:
On any open windows folder,
Tools,
Folder Options
then choose the File Types Tab.
Search for the .msi registered file type and delete.
Then retry.

Re: Very frustrated Installer!
It's associated with "Windows Installer Package" That looks right to me. Delete it anyway???
Thanks for your response, BTW.

Re: Very frustrated Installer!
Eu-freakin-reka!
THE SOLUTION:
Throw WINZIP in the flippin' garbage and use WinRAR or some other file
compression tool! All is well now!
Hopefully this will save someone else the absolutely unnecessary heartache
I've gone through just to get this trial to install.

Re: Very frustrated Installer!
I have been having similar problems trying to get this version installed on a
couple of machines, one using MS 2000 and the other with MS XP. Both
installers fail no matter what decompresser I use.
I found that the French version seems to work tho. So you might want to try
one of the other language versions if you have problems installing. It helps
if you can read that language, but otherwise the other program works exactly
the same.
