    Default Very Strange Phenomenon

    Hi all,

    I'm running a Mac G4 Quicksilver MacOS9.02
    Illustrator 9

Something very strange which I can't find an explenation for.

I have created a power button which includes no drop shadows or fonts.
    Everything are lines and gradients.

When I copy/paste this button into another illustrator file sometimes (and I
realy mean sometimes) it cuts out a little square from in the button (looks
very randomly chosen, it even cuts the word power in two) and makes a bitmap
    image out of it.
So the image appears to be the same but it has a bitmap section in it which
I can select and delete but that also deletes that square part out of my
    button.

I know it's very strangely explained, but I don't know a better way of
    explaining it.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Or is this a bug in illustrator.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mattias

    Default Re: Very Strange Phenomenon

    Just a thought.

In Edit > Preferences > Files & Clipboard, you'll see some settings for your clipboard. PDF, AICB. Try choosing PDF. Or if PDF is already selected, try the other.

I've never seen AI do this between open documents but there's sometimes a similar chunking when copying and pasting between apps and this is what controls the clipboard format.
